A hospital, a prison, a cemetery - are normative, confined, restraining, claustrophobic. These works were created in a studio in a building on Reitarska str. 8b in Kyiv, which was made into a squat by artists and other activists as a protest against the intent of the new owners to erect a commercial building in the historic center of the city. With the support of locals, the creative community occupied a part of the house and expressed their disagreement in a series of cultural event.
This project was presented at the main project of II Biennale of Young Art in Kharkiv (Ukraine) that took place from September 17 till October 31, 2019. The main exhibition Looks Like I’m Entering Our Garden. The curators’ team for the main project: Anastasiia Yevsieieva, Daryna Skrynnyk-Myska and Borys Filonenko.
Untitled 2019 was awarded with the Second Prize by an international jury.
